Greetings Home Educators!

We invite you to join us and start your home school this year with a great activity training students in the important life-long skills of public speaking, critical reasoning and thinking, logic, ability to work constructively with others and more, all in a Biblical worldview context. Ambassadors for Christ Speech & Debate Club began in 2006 for Christian, home educated students. We now host between one and three debate tournaments every year that are attended by students from more than a dozen states.

Here are the bios of our great coaches for this year!

Mrs. Heather Heidebreicht, Junior Varsity Coach

Heather Heidebreicht lives in Brentwood with her husband of 18 years and three children ranging in age from 8-12. She loves to learn alongside her children and her teaching goes back to her teenage years as a dance instructor.  In her free time you can find her outside gardening, reading, playing with her kids, walking the dogs, or volunteering. "JV is a wonderful age to begin to introduce speech and debate. I can't wait to work with the JV group this school year" - Coach Heather.

Mrs. Amy Eytchison, Speech Coach

Amy Eytchison is mom to a former national champion speech student, Aubrey, and a writer for World News Group. She is a strong Christian woman, a wife to her great husband, Brian, and a veteran homeschool mom of four. She has been involved with Ambassador and Stoa speech & debate since 2017. In the past, she has taught acting, storytelling, public speaking, creative writing, literature, and other classes at local Christian homeschool tutorials.

Mr. Jonathan Helton, Team Policy Debate Coach

Jonathan Helton competed in high school speech and debate for three years before attending Freed-Hardeman University. In 2022, he graduated with a bachelor's in Law and Politics. Since graduating college, Jonathan has worked remotely for a think tank in Hawaii, advised state political candidate, and coached debate at Ambassador. He has also taken graduate courses in public leadership.

Miss Livi Jean Crawford, Lincoln-Douglas Value Debate Coach and Speech Coach

Livi Crawford competed in high school speech and debate and is currently a student at Belmont University, where she studies music therapy and neuroscience. She is also a saxophonist and plans to become a board certified music therapist when she graduates Belmont.
